Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
