I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
